The Six Best Book Trailers of 2018!

By December 31, 2018October 21st, 2021No Comments

What a year for book trailers! 2018 saw some of the best book trailers ever made from both big publishing houses and indie authors. It seems like every year the industry trends more toward quality and experimentation. Now we’re seeing fewer of the slideshow book trailers that once dominated the field. Whether the video is like a movie trailer, a chapter excerpt or animation, or an author interview, it’s an exciting time. In publishing and for the written word in general. Below are some of our favorite projects of the year.

1. The Strange Fascinations of Noah Hypnotik

Written by the amazing David Arnold, this YA novel is soon to be a major motion picture from Paramount! Filmed in partnership witb Penguin Teen and with the full participation of the author.

2. People Like Us

One of a series of three book teasers created for the popular Young Adult novel from Penguin Teen. Book teasers are shorter than traditional trailers, optimized for social media.

3. Two Dark Reigns

The much-awaited third book in the Three Dark Crowns series from Kendare Blake. Features a live snake!

4. Secret Keeper

The sequel to Jane Harris’s debut novel Riven, featuring Chase Coleman from The Originals. Riven btw is soon to be a motion picture!

5. The History Makers

The debut novel from award-winning author, producer and comedian Val Bodurtha. We tried to make a book trailer as visual as the novel was!

6. Strands of Starfire

Our first ever book trailer for a Space Fantasy Romance and judging by how much fun we had making it, hopefully not our last!
